Lord Iravatheeswarar


     The temple was constructed in 1143-1173 AD by king Raja Raja Chola II, grandson of king Raja Raja I The monument is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. Efforts are on to declare this temple as a World Heritage Monument as an addition to Lord Brahadeeshwarar Temple, Thanjavur. The Temple is located at a distance 5 km from Kumbakonam in Kumbakonam - Thanjavur bus route. The Temple is repository of art and architecture. It is famous for its intricate carvings.

Lord Sarabeshwarar

     The shrine of Lord Sarabeswarar is famous. On every Sunday special poojas are offered to Lord Sarabeswarar in Rahukalam between 4.30-6 . The Special Pooja attracts hundreds of devotees.
